Sharing helpful fitness tips to shake up your exercise routine 🙂
Thanks to Charlotte Andersen and Greatist for the the info (see link below).
“Planks are the MacGyver of bodyweight movements: They’re super tough and great for almost any situation. The versatile move is best known for working your core, but planks also engage more than 20 muscles, including your shoulders, back, arms, legs, and glutes.” – Charlotte Andersen
Confession: Until very recently I had never heard the term “pulses” to describe a variety of lentils, peas and beans. However, after reading this article on fix.com I know way more about this important source of nutrition.
Check out the infographic below for quick tips on including healthful pulses in your diet.
If you’re reading this blog then I’m sure you’re already an animal-lover, so excuse my preaching to the choir 🙂
I just wanted to pass along this wonderful article by Michelle Millis Chappel at Lifehack, which highlights some of the ways compassion for animals benefits us (see link below).
Really, any thinking, feeling human should already know that animals deserve (and return) our love, but it doesn’t hurt to be reminded, right?
On a personal level, I can say that rescuing a litter of feral kittens in 2015 had a profound impact on how I viewed all animals. Interacting with those (allegedly) unwanted kittens was a mind-enhancing experience and showed me the value of all life.
