What The Heck Is “Grounding”?

Have you ever heard of “grounding”?

I must admit the term was new to me, but it’s a fascinating concept that a lot of people swear by.

The term refers to the therapeutic or nurturing powers that one gets from walking barefoot outdoors.

Let me know whether you believe grounding actually has benefits, or if it’s all just the power of suggestion.

“Grounding, also referred to as earthing, means having direct contact with the earth — such as walking barefoot. Researchers have found numerous benefits when we do grounding, such as reducing pain and inflammation, and even improving sleep.” – Marilyn Rogers

Yeah, I know it sounds really boring, but walking has tons of health benefits with almost no bad side effects (like more intense activities have).

Check out the article below from Phil Mutz at Little Things for a dose of walking motivation.

“From a very young age, I was taught that exercise is good for my health. This may seem pretty obvious, but that doesn’t mean I always make exercise a priority. After all, going to the gym every day can be an extremely large commitment.” – Phil Mutz
